Despite the rumors running around, Pamela and I and the kidlets are moving (TOGETHER!). :) We're renting a beautiful house in south Salem come the first of the month. There's SO much to do, I can barely contain myself. Lists Lists!

three questions of your choosing, if you choose
Ask me 3 questions: no more, no less. Ask me anything you want (though I reserve the right to not answer, or to answer evasively). Then I want you to go to your journal, copy and paste this, allowing your friends (including me) to ask you anything.

the 'perfect' her
Even if she isn't completely satisfied, she's comfortable and knows her own body. She knows how to dress and move it.
She loves food! She enjoys eating well, but will sometimes indulge in ice cream and cheetos! (Extra points for being vegetarian)
She loves movies: watching them, talking about them, seeking out new ones (and not just the mindless fluffy ones).
Music is crucial to her happiness (and the kind of music she likes often overlaps with my own) (Extra points for LOVING to DANCE!)
She likes to alter herself from time to time with intoxicants (pick and choose what you'd like as long as it's not too scary!)
She doesn't push her beliefs on others or me, i.e. she's not always trying to convince me about something we disagree on.
She's into sex, she's good at it, and she wants it often.
She likes to drive (and isn't filled with road rage), but she also lets me drive despite my driving flaws. It's also required that she knows how to drive a stick shift.
She's passionate about something (I don't care too much about what it is). This passion encourages her to think and try new things with me as well.
She appreciates art and makes some herself. She understands that I need to make art, and in fact, she loves the stuff I make!
She loves my girls, no matter how crazy they make her.
Spirituality is important to her (the type of spirituality is fairly open here as long as I don't have to subscribe to the same set of beliefs).
She's invested in her own happiness and her future. She's an agent woman, making decisions and choices in life don't frighten her.
She is kind. Her heart is warm and full, without being naive and overly ignorant.
She loves people. She likes to be out and about, go to social gatherings and seek out new friends.
She lets me be crazy at times, (extra points if she thinks it's cute!), but isn't afraid to let me know that I may need to chill out.
(and yes, I have a 'perfect her', and I cannot tell you how grateful I am for it!)

I don't know where it is appropriate to gush about her, but since we're not really hiding from anyone, here it is...
I'm so crazy about her. The way that she is so considerate. The way she listens to great music. The way her cleavage lures me. The ways that she is so girlie compared to me. The way that she touches me, as if she owns me, knows me and what I want. The way she loves on my girls. The way she loves junky food as I do, but is trying to give it all up (wish us luck).
It scares me that we're trying to all get a place together now. Could it be a mistake, asking for trouble? All I know is that I spend all my time with her and it breaks my heart that at the end of the day she has to go to her own house (at least when it's her week to have her girlie).
None of this changes my love and devotion to him. He's been so amazing lately. And yet...what would I do if he asked me to give her up? Thank goodness I haven't been forced to make such a choice. Because, she is so fucking good!

holiday ho-ho-ho
I copped this from cheekymama. The items that I agreed with her, I just left her answers! Gosh I'm lazy!
1. Egg nog or hot chocolate? EGG NOG! It's my favorite beverage in the WHOLE world!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? "Wrapped"
3. Colored lights on the tree / house or white? "I like both, but white ones can stay up all year long :)"
4. Do you hang mistletoe? Oh mistletoe, how I love you. "I would hang it if I had some."
5. When do you put your decorations up? It has to be at least a day into December. The mood has to hit me.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Can I say stuffing? Or mashed potatoes?
7. What is your favorite holiday dessert? Pumpkin pie! or eggnog cookies!
8. Favorite holiday memory as a child? Being at my grandmother's one year with a bunch of family I hadn't even met. It was so warm and filled with love.
9. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I was in 1st or 2nd grade. I was so sad. I had been one of those kids that told the other ones on the playground they were so wrong about Santa -- he really IS for real. I mean, my mom wouldn't lie to me, would she? It was my babysitter who told me. My mom was pretty upset at her.
10. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? "Of course! In fact, we open all of them on Christmas eve. We do stockings and brunch on Christmas morning, and we have a huge feast late in the evening!" That's exactly what we do! My mom always had Santa bring the stockings (all the juicy presents our parents got us!).
11. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him? What ever's around.
12. Snow! Love it or dread it? Absolutely love it! At least the first time it snows. After winters in New York, I have my limit on the amount of nasty black snow and ice that I can take.
13. Can you ice skate? Not really, but I'm intrigued.
14. Do you remember your favorite gift? I got shiny silver Doc Martens in high school! As a child, I got this bear that was tall enough to dance with.
15. What's the most important thing about the holidays for you? The spirit of the season...spending time with family and friends...loving each other, and eating good food. (well said, Cheekymama)
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Opening stockings Christmas morning.
17. What tops your tree? Haven't settled on one thing in particular. This year it's a hodgepodge of glitter and beads. Crazy!
18. Which do you prefer? Giving or receiving? Giving is so much fun. I take such pride in my giftgiving, but I must say I do like a little something to open up.
19. What is your favorite Christmas Carol? I LOVE carols! "O' Holy Night", "O Come O Come, Emmanuel", "Carol of the Bells"
20. Candy Canes I like them, but don't eat them very often
21. What is your favorite Christmas special or movie? I am a sucker for Rudolph. I love 'Nightmare Before Christmas' (is that a Christmas movie?). I love 'It's a Wonderful Life' too. I like most Christmas movies.

book thing
Last book I bought: 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle. I'm not buying many books for myself lately; we use the library mostly.
How many books I have: not too many! My dh and I pared down a lot for the move from New York. I'd say close to a hundred. Give or take 10 (or 30) :)
Last book I read cover to cover: 'Tipping the Velvet' by Sarah Waters. AWESOME read!
My five favorites (that come to me now as I type --- I mean really, what a hard question):
Still Life with Woodpecker by Tom Robbins Camera Lucida by Roland Barthes Sluggy Slug by Chris Raschka Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy
so all the people I was going to tag have already been tagged!

It's looking different here
I think I've been running around telling people this all day: 'I think I might stay in Salem, afterall.' And why, the sudden change? I discovered last night that I wasn't as miserable here as I thought I was. What a feeling, to stop and see that life isn't crappy, I just had crappy sunglasses on (or something of that nature).
I think I was keeping myself tied in, waiting for another change. I wasn't going to put myself out there. Then there was Hannah. And well, she's taken up a lot of my time! Hahaa! There's time now though. And I'm doing things! And I'm making friends! I cannot tell you what that feels like again, to meet people that I can connect with and feel good to be around. And of course, there's you...oh you, magical blogworld, you. How you've made me feel so interesting. :)

ramblings on mommyhood
Hannah has a bit of a cough today. She doesn't seem sick other than that. My cat, Fish, is quite needy right now (he's rubbing up against my typing fingers). For the second year in a row, Ryan and I forgot out cat's birthday (used to be such a big deal until Hannah came along). What a bad mommy I am to him. I just ate two tuna fish sandwiches. Yes, I know I'm a vegetarian. I just get this uncontrollable urge with the tuna (about four times a year). Yummy!
Hannah's already begun to throw tantrums. I don't know if I have done things to encourage them or not. I don't really know how to react. I just let her scream for a bit and try to encourage other activities, 'Hannah, want to read a story?' Sometimes it works, other times she just shows me how mad she is. I sure did get a fiesty one!
It seems like no matter how much time I get for myself (two nights a week now I get out!), it just isn't enough. I'm just so tired. Does this ever stop? Is it in my head? I do find that the more time we spend outside, the better I feel. Which is great for our sunny days, but Oregon sure does have a lot of rain, eh?
